Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Colorado College, and Masters Degrees in City and Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a member of both the American Planning Association (APA) and the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP).

Nancy Dakin Woltering is a land use and environmental planner specializing in the evaluation of projects in relation to existing plans and policies. Nancy was a key author of two APA award-winning Handbooks on compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  The first handbook was prepared for the University of California Office of the President for its campus planners.  The second handbook was prepared for public jurisdictions and private project proponents.


Nancy has a strong public-interest orientation and is committed to working on projects that enhance both the natural and human-built environment. She offers

responsive, high quality, and locally-based environmental consulting services with principal-level expertise.  She has been the sole proprietor of her firm since 1992.
